“The Raven” — Opera Philadelphia — October 2022
An interactive immersive experience directed by Aria Umezawa in collaboration with Obvious Agency. Before audience members took their seat on the Miller Theater stage, a performer guided them through the theater space in a preamble to the chilling centerpiece. Toshio Hosokawa’s music and Edgar Allen Poe’s verse combine and meet inspiration from the supernatural elements of Noh theater to create a journey of grief, love, and the afterlife.
